Job Overview: Working for a synergy automotive partner we’re looking to recruit a Lead Manufacturing Engineer or Senior Manufacturing Engineer for their hi-volume production plant of injection moulded components.

 

Job Overview:          Working for a synergy automotive partner we’re looking to recruit a Lead Manufacturing Engineer or Senior Manufacturing Engineer for their hi-volume production plant of injection moulded components.  

 

 

 

Directive:

 

To lead the Manufacturing Engineering activities within the New Products Introduction process, life cycle changes and productivity projects as well as to provide the main link between the Engineering and Manufacturing teams. You must have good prior experience with NPI, Project Management & plastic injection moulding production machining. Processes, ancillaries, jigs & fixtures, plant reconfiguration / engineering change / improvements mapping.

 

 

 

Responsibilities:        To support all internal/external customer and suppliers to deliver new product introductions into Manufacturing, with their acceptance. Working on projects from the concept design, through prototypes and into Manufacturing.

 

  • By providing detailed quotations and conceptual manufacturing plans for new enquires

  • By providing solutions to problems concerning design, manufacturing, control procedures of new products and support Manufacturing during the early product life.

  • By specifying and developing new equipment/tooling/processing for a robust and capable process.

  • By creating and updating the necessary documentation and ensuring cross functional involvement.

  • Ensuring that all new products and processes meet the safety, quality and cost requirements.

  • To report on progress and present recommendations at all levels/disciplines of the Manufacturing Team.

  • To work and communicate at all levels of the business, capable of resolving conflict through a positive approach and the ability to facilitate/ understand alternative opinions.

  • Any other duties which may reasonably be required by the post holders line Manager or Plant Manager.

     

    Previous Experience/Skills:

 

  • NPI in an automotive manufacturing environment

  • Design for Manufacture

  • Process Flowcharts and Process FMEA

  • Plastic injection moulding and automation.

  • Plastic joining technologies, including plastic welding and over moulding.

  • Assembling and testing equipment – from specifications to process capability and acceptance.

  • Worked in a busy chance environment where flexibility in meeting high expectations is required.
