The client:

 

·                Priding themselves as the leading mould professionals in the UK that offer a complete cycle technical support front & back, they are specifically recognised for moulding & FEA simulation, Plastic design optimisation, mould and process optimisation & validation, and project & supplier management.

 

·                Further to securing a new electric injection moulding machine and about to move into a new Office & Development Centre in Bootle, Liverpool, we are seeking young applicants with a minimum of 2-3 years injection moulding Setting experience with a good working understanding & knowledge of injection moulding process, optimisation, conditioning, plastic materials.

 

·                Understanding the basics of technically setting an injection moulding machine are a MUST HAVE as full training will be provided by the Plastics Processing & Design Development team on site.

 

·                Applicants must have a “can do, will do” attitude, be able to work unsupervised as well as within a team, be enthusiastic and willing to learn new techniques as well having further career training development, progression and become a process champion within their highly technical moulding processing, design, development & validation team.

The Role:

 

 

 

Reporting into the Technical Project Manager, you will be expected to perform the following duties with commitment and due diligence.

 

 

 

  • Install and Remove Injection Mould Tools Safely

  • Knowledge of fast cycling packaging moulds, hydraulic core pulling, 2 stage ejection moulds desirable,

  • Prepare the moulding machine for moulding trials which includes any associated equipment (chiller, TCU, Hopper, Dryers) collect samples and package in suitable containers and label where required.

  • Set up and optimise the moulding machine and moulds subject to the moulds being able to fit within the moulding machine platens and frame

  • Perform scientific processes and material/masterbatch trials

  • Plan & Perform process Design of Experiments where required working with the natural moulding window where safe to do so.

  • Provide the company with process documentation of the process set-up using the company standard template. Provide small trial reports up to a limit of 400 words. If further information is required, this needs to be agreed.

  • Liaise with third parties regarding the delivery of moulds, materials and additional moulding equipment to suit the day to day business needs

  • Sufficiently maintain the moulding working area to a high standard of cleanliness and be subject to regular audits.

  • Take instruction both verbally and via mould sampling plans, plan, prepare & act on liaising with customers main contact person advising on timings and associated risks.

  • Able to perform standard routine maintenance of mould tooling (cleaning, storing, basic electrical wiring of thermocouples, core pulls, strip and assembly of moulds to access) This does not cover mould tool repairs and will require external expertise and costs.

  • To be able to troubleshoot day to day machine breakdowns, sufficient supplier machinery services contracts in place but needs to be able to support them when fixing issues remotely.

  • Operating of when required CMM and Vision System (training provided)
