Job Overview: Our client, a hi-volume plastic injection moulding manufacturer has retained our services to appoint a Quality Manager, due to increased production demand and new business gained.


  • As a Quality Manager you will be responsible for developing, revising and implementing quality standards and policies within the company. To be successful, you will have a solid and steady career history as a Quality professional  with good supervisory experience within a hi-speed manufacturing environment
  • Plastics manufacturing is not essential for this role but good proven Quality Engineering expertise across Quality Control, Quality systems & Measurement principles is essential, and you must have a mechanical engineering bias or apptitude
  • You will have gained expertise & experience as a Senior Quality Engineer or Quality Manager and you will be used to managing & directing a small team
  • This is a senior & integral role within the business and therefore man-management expererience is essential

  • Lead, direct, support and manage the Quality function within the company
  • Driving quality levels and continuous improvement through application of structured quality improvement and measurement tools
  • To improve the performance standards on all products year on year in line with the continuous improvement programme throughout the business
  • Have the ability to apply good “customer quality engineering” applications and promote communications between the customer and the company
  • Ensure that best practices remain effective and sustainable
  • Strategically manage and develop the staff and department to ensure continuous people development
  • Monitoring quality performance by gathering relevant data, analysing the data and producing statistical reports to enable the production of relevant, timely information to assist in strategic decision making
  • Ensure that traceability is maintained across all functions
  • Facilitate RCA of customer complaints to ensure effective and sustainable corrective action plans
  • You can be required to undertake such other duties, temporarily or on a continuous basis, as may be required of you commensurate with your grade/level in the organisation

Experience and Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of working within a high volume manufacturing environment
  • Previous knowledge of plastics manufacturing, injection moulding, plastic extrusion, compression moulding will be an advantage however not essential; good Quality Assurance, Quality Engineering & Quality systems is absolutely key for this role
  • Good level of education within engineering or a technical subject
  • You must have a good aptitude within mechanical engineering
  • Good experience & overview of Quality tools ie SPC, CMM, 8D, FAIRS etc
  • MS office proficient
  • Mechanical Engineering or similar engineering qualifications
  • Confident, clear & concise communicator and confident personality skills
  • Excellent inter-personal and customer facing skills
