Job Overview: Working closely with our client we are looking to strengthen their manufacturing team with the appointment of an experienced Toolmaker with proven experience of injection moulding tools and CNC machining / wire eroding.

This is an excellent role offering further training and career progression.

Role:

  • This is a day role with early finish Friday
  • Must have experience with interpreting technical mould tool and mechanical drawings
  • Operate all Standard Toolroom machinery and have experience with various CNC machinery operation and programming ( training will be provided on CNC machines ) 
  • Perform all aspects of mould tool requirements, maintenance, repair and modifications, repair & replacement of inserts


Responsibilities:

  • To safely use and maintain all tool room equipment used in accordance with current Health and Safety legislation and company 5S guidelines and to ensure others in the tool room adhere likewise
  • To accurately manufacture prototypes and product samples, jigs, fixtures in accordance with given work schedules, prioritising work as necessary, using appropriate CAD/CAM systems when required
  • To maintain/ repair and modify production plastic injection mould tools in accordance with company guidelines
  • To work as a team to fully assist all functions within the Facility
  • Use initiative to assist and introduce new methods for assembly and manufacture, communicating these as necessary
  • To problem solve moulding related tooling issues and make improvements to allow tool functionality or improve process issues

Experience Requirements:

  • Time served apprenticeship Toolmaker desired
  • Proven Experience of at least 5 years in a Toolmaker role
  • Qualification in Mechanical Engineering (desired, not essential)
  • MIG/TIG welding experience
  • Experience of hot runner systems
  • Experience of multi-cavity tools (desired, not essential)
  • Experience with CNC milling, lathes, grinders and EDM (Sodick or similar)
