Job Overview: On behalf of our client, a successful injection moulding and extrusion manufacturer, we are seeking to appoint a Planning and Purchasing Coordinator to join their team

Role:

Ø   As a Purchasing & Planning Coordinator with will be responsible for purchasing to meet business activity needs through a busy Injection Moulding/Extrusion and Assembly department to maximise on time delivery.

Ø   The role of Purchasing & Planning Coordinator will be to execute the organisations strategic purchasing decisions.

Ø   Assist with scheduling and planning as directed by the Manager

Responsibilities;

Ø   Maintain a balanced stock level of IFS raw material inventory and consumable products

Ø   Create and update demand plan and purchase/expedite materials and components parts for production. Identify potential supply issues for production

Ø   Monitor future capacity constraints v forecast

Ø   Attend and give input into morning production meetings

Ø   Record vendor performance and liaise with appropriate management over vendor performance.

Ø   Support the Purchasing/Planning Manager in completing supply tenders.

Ø   Support production planning as directed by the Purchasing/Planning Manager.

Ø   Conduct market research to identify new suppliers; cost saving opportunities and pricing trends.

Ø   Ensure compliance with Health and Safety responsibilities as set out in the Company Health and Safety Handbook

 

Person Specification;

Ø   The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3 years’ experience in a Purchasing/Planning role

Ø   Methodical and good problem-solving skills

Ø   Strong understanding of market conditions and trends

Ø   Excellent planning and organisations skills

Ø   Logical and analytical with strong drive to archive high standards

Ø   Good commercial awareness

Ø   Capable of working under pressure and to deadlines

Ø   Excellent verbal and written communication skills
