Job Overview: Due to increased production demand and new business gained, our client has retained our services to appoint a Quality Specialist to join their team. The role of Head of Quality will be instrumental across all aspects of QE, QC, QS, QI.

Overview:

  • As Head of Quality you will have had a solid and steady career history as a Quality professional with good supervisory experience within ahigh paced & hi-volume manufacturing environment
  • You will have gained expertise, ideally holding a minimum of 5 years’ experience as a Quality Specialist / Quality professional and will be used to both driving & adhering to Quality & Manufacturing legislation, systems & best working practices
  • This is a senior & integral role within the business and therefore man-management experience is essential

Responsibilities:

  • Lead, direct, support and manage the Quality function within the company
  • Driving quality levels and continuous improvement through application of structured quality improvement and measurement tools (Lean, Six-Sigma etc)
  • To improve the performance standards on all products year on year in line with the continuous improvement programme throughout the business
  • Strategically manage and develop the staff and department to ensure continuous people development
  • Monitoring quality performance by gathering relevant data, analysing the data and producing statistical reports to enable the production of relevant, timely information to assist in strategic decision making
  • Ensure that traceability is maintained across all functions
  • Facilitate RCA of customer complaints to ensure effective and sustainable corrective action plans
  • You can be required to undertake such other duties, temporarily or on a continuous basis, as may be required of you commensurate with your grade/level in the organisation
  • Implementing good practise of LEAN & Quality tools

Experience & Person Specification:

  • Good engineering / manufacturing qualifications
  • Knowledge of working with medical product manufacturing will be welcome
  • Knowledge of working within a high volume and hi-speed manufacturing environment
  • Excellent inter-personal and customer facing skills
  • Accuracy and attention to detail
  • Effective communications skills (written and verbal) and good inter-personal relations
  • Strategic with a sound logical approach to problem solving
  • Strong leadership, management and people development skills
  • A change agent, seeking a challenge with the ability to lead by example, challenging existing preconceptions and driving improvements
  • A proven track record in the achievement of results through engagement of people and application of recognised tools is essential
  • Self-motivated and confident decision maker
