Job Overview: On behalf of our client, a successful injection moulding and extrusion manufacturer, we are seeking to appoint an Assistant Warehouse Manager to join their team

Role:

  • As an Assistant Warehouse Manager, you will be responsible for the management and operation of the warehouse and all associated activities
  • The role of Assistant Warehouse Manager will be to ensure on time delivery targets are achieved and that the warehouse area is kept safe, clean and organised

Responsibilities:

  • To assist in the management and operation of the warehouse and all associated activities
  • Assist to strategically manage the Dispatch and Goods receiving/Raw materials warehouses in compliance with the company’s policies and vision
  • Adopting and enforcing safe working practices in all aspects of the distribution operation
  • Initiate, coordinate and enforce optimal operation policies and procedures
  • Adhere to all warehousing, handling, and shipping legislation requirements
  • Maintain high standards of housekeeping, warehouse cleanliness/hygiene and security
  • Manage stock control and reconcile with data storage system
  • Liaise with customers, haulage, and transport companies to maintain positive relationships
  • Plan and manage work rotas, assign tasks and projects and appraise staff at required intervals
  • Produce reports and statistics regularly for the Warehouse Manager (on time delivery performance, stock turns, dead stock, variance analysis etc.)
  • Supervise staff in accordance with company policies and procedures
  • Assist staff to resolve complex or out of policy operation problems
  • Communicate with other Supervisor and Managers
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Be open and pro-active to change in the best interest of the company’s overall business development
  • Participate in and support the implementation of the company-wide quality systems and ensuring that staff working for the department work within the quality standards

Person Specification:

  • The successful candidate will have 3-5 years supervisory experience
  • Good leadership qualities, able to develop and maintain a culture of performance excellent
  • Logical and analytical with a strong drive to achieve high quality standards
  • Capable of working under pressure and to deadlines
  • Ability to maintain high standards of housekeeping/work area cleanliness
