Job Overview: Working with one of our customers, a successful plastics injection moulder supplying to a variety of industries, we are looking to appoint an enthusiastic Quality Engineer to join their team.

General Summary:

• A fantastic opportunity has arisen with our client for an established and enthusiastic Quality Engineer to join their team. You will be responsible for ensuring their products fully meet their customer requirements whilst conforming to all relevant standards and regulations
• As a Quality Engineer you will possess a continuous improvement mindset to challenge and continually improve quality standards, as well as have exceptional communication skills as you will be required to liaise with external suppliers and customers
• This position would suite wither an experienced Quality Technician who is looking to progress their career or an established Quality Engineer

Primary job functions:

• Customer facing as necessary in reactive and pro-active roles
• Assistance in training operators to relative quality instructions
• Investigation of any concern, including customer complaints, 5D, 8D, 5 Why, Ishikawa etc
• Development of corrective and preventive actions
• Assistance to manufacturing departments in resolving concerns
• Working cross departmental to achieve best quality for customer’s needs
• Preparation of quality system documentation. E.g. All PPAP elements and APQP, including but not limited to, Process Flows, PFMEA, Control Plans and generation of Work Instructions
• Dimensional / process / functional testing and auditing
• Use of general measuring equipment/checking fixtures/gauges
• Conducting internal audits to IATF16949 and customer requirements
• Continuous improvement teams
• Support functions to Projects
• Hands on role

Requirements:

• Knowledge of APQP, PPAP, Control Plans and FMEA
• Previous injection moulding, ultrasonic welding or assembly techniques experience would be beneficial
• Experience with internal & supplier auditing to ISO9001 & IATF 16949 standards would be desirable
• A qualification in quality and auditing would be an advantage but not essential
• You must be an organised individual with good communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively with customers on a regular basis
