Job Overview: Our client has retained our serviced to support them in appointing a Service Engineer who will be responsible for the installation, commissioning and servicing of materials handling equipment, ancillary equipment & jigs & fixtures into plastics manufacturing environments.

Role:

• As a Service Engineer you will have a strong electro-mechanical maintenance or service engineering background with several years’ experience. You will need to have working knowledge in the commissioning, assembly and servicing of various turnkey automation projects, ancillaries, jigs & fixtures with various hi-volume injection moulding manufacturing clients
• Ideally applicants will be either within a Service Engineer role or be a competent Maintenance Technician or Maintenance Engineer with good mechanical engineering experience & qualifications (minimum C&G) and hold 16th or 17th edition electrical regulations certificate. The ideal candidate will have experience in the installation and commissioning of production machinery or ancillary equipment and be an electrically biased multi skilled engineer / service engineer
• Whilst having the need to often work alone, you can rest assured that you are supported by other Service Engineers as well as a highly skilled management team from the company head office, therefore you must be self-motivated and confident in making key decisions on the spot

Required education:

• Electrical/Mechanical Engineering HNC, time-served apprenticeship or equivalent qualification 

Required experience:

• Installation, service and repair of electro-mechanical machinery preferably within the plastics industry, moulding industry or materials handling sector
• Prior experience working within hi-volume manufacturing or automation environment
• Performing tasks under pressure to meet production requirements
• Building and maintain good working relations
• Ability to identify areas of improvement for customers
