Role:

·       As a Production Planner you will be responsible for production planning and scheduling of the production department and shopfloor.

·       The role of a Production Planner will require you to ensure that goods are produced on time, in full for distribution in a profitable and efficient manner whilst maintaining the smooth and cost-efficient flow of production operations.

 

Responsibilities:

·       Generate daily or weekly production schedules to ensure that production deadlines are met.

·       Plan and prioritise operations to ensure maximum performance and minimum delay

·       Lead production workflow for multiple products

·       Plan staff resources through shift scheduling to fit with production requirements

·       Forecast and establish equipment and raw materials required to meet the production demand.

·       Hold regular meetings with key production personnel to discuss daily/weekly/monthly requirements

·       Oversee jobs to ensure that they meet time deadlines and are completed within budget

·       Address issues as they arise aiming for minimum disruption to production, communicating with production and quality departments where necessary.

·       Report on key output and performance information such as number of completed products, percentages of defectives etc

·       Perform regular WIP audits and process tracking

·       Efficient file management

 

Experience Requirements.

  • A minimum of 2 years’ experience as a production planner/scheduler
  • Excellent knowledge of production planning and quality control principles
  • Experience of MRP11 (Manufacturing Resource Planning)
  • Strong knowledge of MS Office including Excel and ERP systems
  • Good organisational and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to communicate clearly at all levels
  • Ability to work under pressure to tight deadlines whilst managing priorities
  • Customer focussed with a hands-on approach
  • Experience in LEAN Manufacturing is advantageous
  • Knowledge of Epicor an advantage
  • Supply chain management qualifications an advantage
  • Automotive/manufacturing experience is a plus but not essential
