Job Overview: Working with our client, an established manufacturer of injection moulded components for the white goods & FMCG industry, we are looking for an Injection Mould Toolmaker to join their team.
Remit:
- As a Toolmaker you will perform PPM, troubleshoot and attend breakdowns, utilising the resources available on site to carry out repairs.
- The role of a Toolmaker is to maintain records of all work carried out and preparation of clear concise descriptions of concerns and problems encountered.
Role:
- As a Toolmaker you will be responsible for the manufacture, maintenance, service and repair of injection mould tools from base components using handheld tools and machines as required
- Investigate issues to find root causes passing information back to the design department and management so issues can be avoided in future
- Logging of any concerns, issues and repairs
- All conventional machining (grinding, milling, turning, sparking) is required
- You will ensure regular mould maintenance is carried out to the highest standard
- The Toolmaker will maintain standards of Housekeeping and Health & Safety
- Working in a systematic fashion following any instructions available
- Maintain working area to a high standard
- In the role of Toolmaker you will maintain records of all work carried out and prepare clear concise descriptions of concerns and problems encountered.
- Any other reasonable Engineering duties required
Experience Requirements:
- Recognised Toolmaking/Engineering apprenticeship
- You must have experience of maintenance, repair and modification of Injection Mould Tools in a well-equipped modern tool room, and high precision machining
- Competent in the use of manual and standard toolroom equipment (lathes, mills, surface grinders, cylindrical grinders, manual spark eroder)
- Experience of Tooling Hot Runner Systems
- Experience in CNC machining
- Ability to read and understand engineering drawings
- Sound decision making and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication skills – both written and verbal
- Self-driven, with a positive attitude and a proactive outlook
