Senior Production Planner Full Time

Job Overview: We are working on behalf of our client, a leading injection moulding manufacturer supplying JLR and the automotive industry looking for a Senior Production Planner to join their team. Remit:

• A fantastic opportunity for a Senior Production Planner to join a reputable leading plastics manufacturer that is part of a large group of companies supplying technical components, assemblies and paint plants. • As the Senior Production Planner, your key role will be to manage the factory planning using MRP as well as planning and prioritising operations to ensure maximum performance and utilisation.
• The ideal candidate for the role must have supervisory experience, they will be analytical, display critical thinking and problem-solving skills, and have a high degree of competency in the use of Microsoft Office applications, ERP and MRP systems. 

Role:

• Monitor the availability of raw materials for planned manufacturing, using stock availability reports
• Supervise a team of Production Planners across all production and material planning whilst fostering a collaborative work environment
• Manage the raw materials and packaging inventory for on-time delivery, precise stock records, and budget/space compliance
• Match workforce, manpower, and production capacity with existing inventory
• Guide the team in formulating cost-effective manufacturing plans aimed at achieving Delivery Cost Improvement (DCI) and ensuring 100% On-Time-In-Full (OTIF) delivery
• Manages finished products and Work In Progress (WIP) inventory to align with anticipated demand
• Undertake inventory counting for raw materials as required
• Prepare and submit specific KPI reports
• Maintain records of orders received, completed work, and inventory
• Advise and facilitate communication between company departments to review, maintain, and improve processes
• Liaise with procurement to ensure stock availability of raw materials for manufacturing
• Ensure the team strictly adheres to Health, Safety, and Environmental requirements, promoting a safe and sustainable working environment

Experience:

• Experienced with ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) and MRP (Materials Requirement Planning) systems
• Good people management skills, great attention to detail, self-motivated as well as excellent communication skills
• Be strongly analytical, display critical thinking and problem-solving skills, and have a high degree of competency in the use of Microsoft Office
• Applicants may have worked within any market discipline but must have prior experience working within hi-volume manufacturing
• Able to convey technical knowledge effectively
