Job Overview: Working alongside our client, a successful injection moulding manufacturer we are searching for a Mould Process Engineer to join their team.
Role:
- As a Mould Process Engineer you will be required to support validation of new and modified equipment and processes, to provide process improvements and fault identification/correction to production.
- A successful Mould Process Engineer will be able to lead advanced tool trials, machine conditioning & optimisation, cycle time improvements & scrap reduction.

Responsibilities;
- To successfully introduce SMED (Single Minute Exchange Die)
- To monitor and record the performance of the Setters in terms of efficiency and quality of product produced
- To work with QC to ensure that the products produced comply with customer specifications.
- To monitor the production monitoring system to maintain and improve upon the efficiency of the injection moulders in the department
- To work with the Injection Process Technicians to reduce downtime, improve safety and the efficiency of the Setters by way of individual training
- To work with the Tool Room to maintain tool quality and to have an input with design and the commissioning of new tooling
- To introduce, monitor and record the machine safety procedure (regular individual machine safety checks).
- To work with the production planner to facilitate a smooth and efficient tool change schedule to minimise downtime.
- To aid with the specification of new injection moulding machine sin conjunction with the company’s requirements
- To monitor and record improvements made to tool cycle times.
- To work with compound suppliers and Quality Control to formulate and improve all compounds processed at the company.
- To reduce downtime regarding tool changing, Insert changing and colour changing on all inject moulding machines.
- To ensure that the level of housekeeping in the department is maintained at a high standard at all times.
- To work with the Directors and Managers of the company to progress improvements
Skills & Experiences:
- Minimum 5 years Plastic Injection Moulding Process Engineering experience related to plastic injection moulding machines, tooling, automation and process infrastructure.
- Capable of reading and monitoring data from mould cavity process monitoring curves to determine quality of process
- Be self-motivated and confident with taking responsibility for all areas of work
- Sound decision making and problem-solving skills
- Proven project management skills
- Excellent analytical skills in order to monitor and manage KPI’s, along with good IT, written and verbal communication skills
- Have the drive and desire to drive forward improvements to ensure the company continues to manufacture high quality products
- Ability to interface and communicate effectively with all levels of employees, management and diverse audiences, including suppliers and internal/external customers
